Since 2009, Vertigo Ventures (VV) has been partnering with leading universities globally to help them best identify, capture and report the impact of their work. We do this by offering a range of services, such as impact training workshops, consultancy services, and, our unique, proprietary software.

Through our innovative software we have been able to create a fast-growing technology company which has expanded exponentially in the last few years (over 60% year on year), especially in Australia, UK and Hong Kong. We are a small, ambitious team. We currently have 17 employees based in the UK, Hong Kong, Philippines and with our Founder, Laura Tucker, now based in Singapore.

University Account Manager (ANZ)

(For tech start up – 3 days pw, remote working, flexible)

We are a small,ambitious team. We currently have 17 employees based in the UK, Hong Kong, Philippines and with the Founder, Laura Tucker, now based in Singapore.

With the rapid growth of the business, we are looking to welcome to our team a new part-time member (3 days a week), based in Australia with potential to grow the role into a full-time position. We currently have six university clients in Australia, so this role will be focused both on business development in Australia and New Zealand and managing our current client base in Australia. The role will mostly be remote working with some travelling to client sites, events etc..

Salary: A$ 75,000 to 100,000 pa (based on experience) pro rata, along with company benefits

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the on-boarding process for new client universities
  • Support client engagement with our software (e.g. by gathering feedback and developing engagement plans etc.)
  • Work  with clients and/or senior management to support them with proposed software rollout and user adoption plans
  • Respond to user queries about our software
  • Perform product demonstrations for our software with prospective client universities
  • Build relationships with research funders to learn more about their priorities with impact and share our work
  • Work with our team to organise, host and deliver impact training workshops, webinars etc.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other roles/teams within the company to most effectively support clients
  • Manage evolving client expectations and identify opportunities for adding further value to them (e.g. specific training needs, or, suggestions for additional functionalities for VV-Impact Tracker for the development team)
  • Regularly track and analyse users’ usage and customer satisfaction for Impact Tracker
  • Identify opportunities for account expansion and renewals
  • Organise and manage events for client universities

Requirements (essential):

  • 5+ years previous sector experience – University &/or Research
  • 3+ year previous account management experience
  • Ability to build and maintain rapport with clients
  • Disciplined with excellent time management skills as this position will be mainly working remotely/from home
  • Willingness to be flexible with time zones
  • Enthusiastic in engaging with new technology platforms
  • Willingness to travel to build client relationships within ANZ

Requirements (desired):

  • We would love someone with impact reporting experience but we recognise that this is fairly new in Australia
  • Excellent spreadsheet (e.g. pivot tables), word and presentation skills
  • IT/SaaS systems experience/background
Digital Marketing and SEO Manager

The VV-Impact Tracker software was launched in 2014 to help researchers and institutions identify, store, validate, and organise impact information and evidence from projects across a range of disciplines. Through our innovative software we have been able to create a fast-growing technology company which has expanded exponentially in the last few years, both in the UK and abroad. Our training and consultancy services continue to build on our solid foundations as impact experts and support institutions to understand how best to measure impact, and, identify and showcase their achievements to date.

At VV, we are a small but ambitious team working in a fast-paced, exciting environment. Our offices in the UK are based in Kings Cross, London, but, we encourage flexible working too. Our offices foster an open environment where collaboration and good ideas are encouraged and embraced.

With the rapid growth of the business, and to ensure further growth and success, we are looking to welcome a new temporary (until the end of 2019) full-time member to our dynamic team here in the UK (with a view to a permanent position in 2020).

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a website traffic plan and create goals and benchmarks which will need to be met
  • Generate weekly reports on VV marketing activities’ performance and analysis to clients and company management to demonstrate effective return on investment (ROI)
  • Optimise website and social media channels for SEO as well as usability. Conduct keyword research and web statistics reporting
  • Manage art and copywriting professionals (outsourcing where needed)
  • Analyse key metrics from VV website traffic and VV service interest
  • Partner with advertising and media specialists to increase marketing results
  • Communicate with Managing Director and CRO about marketing objectives and KPIs
  • Coordinate with Sales Team and identify leads.
  • Organise and manage potential client’s contact lists, analyse website/social media visits and training/webinar attendees etc. and identify new leads for the sales and training teams
  • Create and distribute email marketing campaigns
  • Research new online media opportunities that may benefit the business including mobile, social media, development of blogs and forums
  • Design website banners and assist with web visuals
  • Communicate with clients, affiliate networks and affiliate partners
  • Contribute to social media engagement and brand awareness campaigns
  • Use web analytics software to monitor the performance of VV website and make recommendations for improvement
  • Contribute to company and industry blogs and manage e-communications
  • Develop and integrate content marketing strategies
  • Keep up to date with current digital trends
  • Manage the contact database and assist with lead generation activities
  • Negotiate with media suppliers to achieve the best price for clients.

Requirements (essential):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related field required
  • 5+ years’ experience in B2B digital marketing and advertising
  • Excellent grasp of social media and website metrics and best practices
  • Demonstrable experience with email marketing, lead generation and SEO
  • Advanced knowledge of HTML and CSS required
  • Excellent Office spreadsheet (e.g. pivot tables), word and presentation skills
  • Strong communication
  • Negotiation and closing skills

New Business Development Manager (Europe)

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with Digital Marketing Manager and qualify identified leads.
  • Approach new potential clients in key regions (principaly UK as well as Europe) for the VV-Impact Tracker software and VV trainings/consultancy through cold calling, networking, attending events etc.
  • All external communications with potential clients should be captured, kept updated, progressed through VV Sales cycle and forecast accurately on VV CRM systems.
  • Perform sales presentations for VV-Impact Tracker
  • Support new client engagement with VV-Impact Tracker
  • Support potential client universities where appropriate throughout the trial period
  • Communicate with institutional representatives and/or senior management to support new client universities with proposed engagement plans etc.
  • Be able to respond to potential client queries about the VV-Impact Tracker software
  • Perform product demonstrations for VV-Impact Tracker with prospective client universities
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other roles/teams within the company to most effectively support potential clients during RFI and prepare proposals, business cases with cost justification where appropriate and negotiate within company’s Sales Policy Guidelines.
  • Manage potential client needs and expectations and identify opportunities for adding further value to them (e.g. specific training needs, or, suggestions for additional functionalities for VV-Impact Tracker for the development team)
  • Organise and manage potential client’s contact lists, analyse website/social media visits and training/webinar attendees etc. and identify new leads for the sales and training teams
  • Co-ordination support for international Universities and potential partnership opportunities.

Requirements (essential):

  • Building and managing sales pipelines, account management & forecasting experience
  • Ability to build and maintain rapport with potential clients
  • Previous multi-stakeholder management experience
  • Previous sector experience – University &/or Research
  • Strong communication and new business sales experience
